Trying Something New

Originally I was going to post a movie I recently put together, but it wont load. I'll have to work on that. Instead, I decided to give you a couple of my Photoshop experiments. I will tell you this though, no one has permission to use any of these anywhere ever. Unless I'm mistaken though, 2 of the background images are pretty much free to use. The caption on the bust of Henley said that the image could be used for "scholarly or educational purposes." This be the honors system folks. I'm going to trust you not to steal my work. If you do post it somewhere though, give me credit at least...please.Thanks.
Enjoy!!

I will add that the background images do not belong to me. I found them on Google, but what you see here was created by me. The Shakespeare image can be found  at

The bust of William E. Henley is a sculpture done by Rodin and the image can be found at http://www.victorianweb.org/sculpture/french/rodin1.html

I looked out the window and what did I see...

Since I haven't posted in a while I thought I'd stick these up here. For a couple years we've had at least 5 owls hanging out in our back yard at night. Just a few weeks ago my mom and I went outside and found 3 of them sitting in our apricot tree and I managed to attract their attention long enough to get some pretty good pictures.
Enjoy!

Long Time, No Post

It feels like it's been forever since I got online and posted to my blog. I've been a little busy with work, school, and a couple family tragedies so good picture opportunities have been super hard to come by. I did, however, come by one last fall that I thought I'd share during another photographic lapse. One of the departments arranged to have some Tibetan, Buddhist monks come to the campus and do a sand mandala. I, of course, had to go check it out because I love the opportunity to discover new things and learn traditions from religions that aren't mine. I got a bunch of pictures, though not as many as I would have liked. It was an awesome experience.

Enjoy!!

I'm hoping to take some pictures this summer. I'm also planning on buy a new camera and doing some stuff with my mom's old Minolta. It should be an adventure!
